SALEM: The Industrial Training Institutes (ITI), run by the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Union at Bargur in Krishnagiri district, Pattukkottai in Thanjavur district and Tiruchuzhi in Virudhunagar district have invited applications from students for admissions to various trades.
Courses offered
According to a release from the Salem District Cooperative Union, the ITIs offer courses in tailoring, electrician, garments manufacturing and computer applications. Those who have completed Standard VIII are eligible for tailoring course. Those with SSLC can apply for electrical and garments manufacturing and those with Plus Two can join computer applications.
Reservation
Besides the reservation based on Government orders, the ITIs provides 50 per cent reservation for the wards of the members and employees of cooperative societies. Those belonging to the Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes aged between 14 and 40 can also apply. Application forms can be had from the following addresses: Bargur Cooperative ITI, Mathe Palli, Pattukkottai Cooperative ITI, Palayam, Tiruchuzhi Cooperative ITI, Thirubhuvanam Road. The forms should be submitted to the respective ITIs within 15 days after the publication of the SSLC results.
