HYDERABAD: The Jubilee Hills police arrested two SSC students on the charge of impersonation during the SSC supplementary examination on Tuesday.
According to the police, Mohammed Jameel Ahmed (16), a resident of Borabanda, had failed in his English examination. He was to appear for the supplementary examination on Tuesday. The centre for the examination was Newton Grammar High School at Rehmatnagar.
It is learnt that as he was poor in English, he sought his friend, Mohammed Abdul Jameel's help for passing the exam. The police said that both had similar features.
While Jameel stood outside the examination centre, Abdul went inside and wrote the exam. However, the invigilator noticed the fraud when he found that signatures of Abdul did not tally with the one on the hall ticket and answer sheets. Upon grilling, Abdul spilled the beans. A case was registered against them under Section 419 IPC (cheating by impersonation).
