Alleged robbers held

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: Four alleged robbers were arrested at Shastri Nagar by the Operation Cell of North Delhi on Tuesday. A country-made firearm, two live cartridges, two knives and a mobile phone were recovered from them.

According to the police, the accused, Sarwan, Sonu, Gurmeet Singh and Sameer Khan, were arrested when they had assembled in a park to plan a robbery.

During interrogation, they allegedly disclosed that they had committed a robbery at Timarpur. Further probe into their suspected involvements are on.

Two arrested

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: Two persons have been arrested on charges of sodomising and killing a young boy at New Usmanpur in North-East Delhi on May 20.

The body of the victim was found abandoned at New Usmanpur. His hands and legs were tied, while he was partially nude.

Investigations led the police to zero in on Mirazul Haque and Shahir, who resided near Old Delhi railway station. Subsequently, the two were rounded up.

During interrogation, they allegedly confessed to

having committed the

crime.

Hoax bomb call

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: A call claiming that a bomb would explode at PVR Saket in South Delhi on Wednesday was found to be a hoax.

The police received the call around 3-30 p.m., which was traced to a Sangam Vihar. Enquiries revealed that it was an act of mischief by a boy. The police said the shows at the cineplex were not disrupted during their operation.

Underpass cleared

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: A proposal for a trumpet-shaped underpass at National Highway 8 leading to Dwarka near the southern boundary of Indira Gandhi International Airport here was cleared at a meeting chaired by the Lieutenant-Governor, B.L. Joshi.

Construction of the underpass that will be taken up by the National Highway Authority of India after acquisition of the land

will make the T-junction signal free and facilitate

free flow of traffic along NH-8.
