U.S. seeks end to textile row
BEIJING:
Visiting U.S. Commerce Secretary, Carlos Gutierrez, said here on Thursday that the U.S. government hoped to both solve the U.S.-China textile issue through consultations. At a luncheon hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in China, Mr. Gutierrez said he would focus on protecting intellectual property rights during discussions with Chinese officials. He warned that China risked `an outbreak of protectionism' if current trade tensions were not addressed.
