The other constituencies also witnessed a heavy turnout with Margao registering 62 per cent, Benaulim (65), Cumbarjua (67) and Taleigao (62).Polling hours had to be extended beyond 5 p.m. and even the last voter in the queue was allowed to cast his vote, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Raajiv Yaduvanshi, told reporters here.

Women voters outnumbered men in Cumbarjua by 600 and Benaulim by 1,300. Other constituencies witnessed almost equal voting, the CEO said.
