BANGALORE: The Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, R. Ramalinga Reddy, said on Friday that the Government can claim credit for distributing textbooks, notebooks and uniforms to schoolchildren on time this year. The Minister, who was distributing textbooks, notebooks and uniforms to students at the Government Higher Primary School on Link Road, Seshadripuram, said there used to be delays in distributing textbooks and uniforms in the past. Mr. Reddy said funds will be released shortly to build classrooms in the school. The Gandhingar MLA, Dinesh Gundu Rao, said a government junior college will be opened soon at Srirampuram.
Students felicitated
He felicitated two students Akhila and Bhuvaneshwawri who scored 88 per cent and 85 per cent marks respectively in the SSLC examination.
Books for 1,000 children
Over 1,000 students of three government primary schools in the Gandhinagar Assembly constituency received free textbooks and notebooks.
