CHENNAI: J. Agnishwar (Chettinad) and Mridula Rajiv (ORCA) emerged the individual champions in the Group I boys' and girls' sections respectively on the final day of the 32nd Delphi-TVS Tamil Nadu State sub-junior and junior aquatic championship, which concluded at the Velachery Complex on Friday. Ten new meet records were set on the final day, two of them by Agnishwar, in the 400m IM and 50m breaststroke, which meant that this swimmer with promise had not only won all the five events he took part in, but clinched each with a record time. R. Aishwarya of Dolphin created new meet records in the Group I girls 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke. She also won her five events with record timings. M.B. Balakrishnan of SDAT-Sakthi (Gr. I boys, 50m backstroke), S. Nithya of NLC (Gr. I girls, 400m IM), the ORCA 4x200m Group I girls freestyle relay team (Gayatri Pillai, Apoorva Rajiv, B. Suhavana and Mridula Rajiv), N. Venkateswaran of Dolphin (Gr. IV boys, 50m butterfly), M.M. Venpa of Dolphin (Gr. III girls, 100m breaststroke) and the ORCA 4x50m Group IV girls medley relay team (V. Vidarshana, Divya Vummudi, Shruthi Joseph and R. Sushmitha) also set new meet records. J.S. Chopra, President, Delphi TVS, gave away the prizes. The championships: Individual: Boys: Gr. I: J. Agnishwar (Chettinad, 3501 points); Gr. II: S.R. Sarath (Dolphin, 2993); Gr. III: Harikrishna Babu (NLC, 1795); Gr. IV: N. Venkateswaran (Dolphin, 2193). Girls: Gr. I: Mridula Rajiv (ORCA, 3207); Gr. II: A.A. Sarojini Devi (SDAT-Sakthi, 3090); Gr. III: M.M. Venpa (Dolphin, 2412); Gr. IV: C. Lavanya (MSA, 2475). Team: Boys: Gr. I: NLC (146 points); Gr. II: NLC (134); Gr. III: League (83); Gr. IV: TSPA (74). Girls: Gr. I: ORCA (190); Gr. II: NLC (199); Gr. III: ORCA (67); Gr. IV: ORCA (61).
