HYDERABAD: He is 80-year old and is allegedly a "specialist" in erasing the contents on old stamp papers using chemicals and then selling it as "new" stamp papers.

He is stated to be in this `trade' for almost 40 years now. The octogenarian, Shaik Adam Ali, is now cooling his heels behind the bars after the police got scent of his trade and arrested him.

The South Zone Task Force team on Friday nabbed Adam Ali and another person, Amjad Ali, through whom the 80-year-old was selling the stamp papers at exorbitant rates.

Disclosing the details at a press conference here on Friday, the in-charge City Police Commissioner Inderjeet Nagia, said that one Mohammed Amjad Ali, a stamp paper vendor, was found to be in possession of huge quantities of non-judicial stamp papers and rubber stamps.

During interrogation, he confessed that he was working as a clerk with a Notary Advocate and after his death, he started the same business without any authorisation.
