NEW DELHI: The Athletic Federation of India (AFI) has picked 24 athletes, 12 men and as many women, to represent India at the three Asian Grand Prix events. Athletes' performances at the three National Circuit meets and the Federation Cup, which concluded here on Friday, were taken into consideration before the squad was finalised by the AFI Selection Committee that met here on Saturday. The Asian athletic season opens with Grand Prix in Surabaya, Indonesia, on June 18, followed by Singapore on June 21 and Songkhla, Thailand, on June 24. The team: Men: 100m: Anil Kumar and Piyush Kumar; 400m: Bhupinder Singh and Satbir Singh; 800m: Ghamanda Ram; 110m hurdles: H. Krishna Mohan, Shot put: Ranvijay Singh and Navpreet Singh; Jevelin: Jagdish Kumar Bishnoi and Sunil Goswami; Long jump: Maha Singh; High jump: Hari Shankar Roy. Women: 100m: Poonam Tomar, 400m: S. Geetha and Manjeet Kaur; 1500m: Sinimol Paulose, Sunita Rani and Sunita Kanojia; 400m hurdles: K. Chitra Soman; Discus: Seema Antil, Neelam J. Singh, Krishna Poonia and Harwant Kaur; Long jump: Anju B. George. Sports Reporter
