Fake journalist arrested
RTC driver dies in mishap
According to reports, the driver of the bus belonging to Kuppam depot, M.A. Khan, 45, died on the spot while eight passengers sustained injuries. The mishap occurred when the bus and another bus of KSRTC coming from Bangalore collided. Staff Reporter
One killed in wall collapse
A woman was killed in a wall collapse in the district headquarters. In Anantapur town, one Thimmakka, 65, of Pilligundala Colony also died in a wall collapse due to heavy rain. In all, 50 thatched and old houses and huts collapsed, mainly in slum areas. Staff Reporter
Two boys drowned
Runaway tipper kills two
ADILABAD: Two persons were killed and another was seriously injured in a freak road accident in front of the RTC bus stand here on Saturday. The accident was caused by a tipper which apparently went out of control. According to eyewitnesses, the tipper, first a woman identified as Mukta, killing her on the spot. It then hit a cobbler Parashuramulu sitting on the edge of the road, injuring him seriously. The tipper mowed down Ganesh Reddy of Karanji in Jainad mandal who was talking to a friend on the edge of the road. The driver and the cleaner of the vehicle abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. __Staff Reporter Cinema theatre ransacked KURNOOL: An irate mob ransacked a theatre to protest against the delay in screening of a movie starring Chiranjivi here in the early hours of Saturday. According to reports, a huge crowd gathered at Anand theatre for the movie though the representatives of distributors announced that the movie would be released on Saturday. The mob attacked the ticket counter and damaged it. Later, the crowd attacked the buses passing by and caused minor damage to five buses. A few passengers also sustained injuries. __ Staff Reporter
