Ganja seized, man held
According to the police, a patrol team spotted the accused, Raju, moving under suspicious circumstances. The police stopped him for questioning and on his personal search, recovered the ganja kept in a polythene bag. During interrogation, Raju allegedly disclosed that he had bought the consignment from Ghaziabad. Further investigations are on.
Criminals arrested
The accused have been identified as Sanjay, Nafe Singh, Rattan, Rajesh, Suleman, Javed, Ganesh, Babu Lal, Sachin Kumar and Ranjit. They were arrested on charges of smuggling of liquor, theft, for possessing illegal arms, consuming drugs and liquor at public place.
Cambridge fellowship
Raoul Uberoi from the city's British School was selected through the University of Cambridge International Examinations. He was awarded the scholarship in recognition of his achievement in gaining exceptional 'A' level results in the June 2004 exam session. Uberoi receives 1,500 pounds a year for three years to study at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, where he had taken admission in Economics. As a Cambridge International Fellowship Centre, the British School here was able to nominate students for the annual Cambridge International Fellowship Exam.
