DHAKA: Police on Saturday arrested the second wife of former Bangladesh President Hussain Muhammad Ershad on charges of ``misappropriating'' money and ``intimidating'' her husband, a senior official said. Bidisha Ershad was arrested from her residence in Baridhara diplomatic area, they said. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mizanur Rahman told the private UNB news agency that she was arrested following a case filed by 77-year-old Ershad, charging her of ``misappropriation of money and intimidating her husband''. The arrest was made within an hour of the filing of the case. Ms. Ershad threatened to commit suicide by jumping off her apartment on the fifth floor in the presence of scores of police personnel, journalists and TV cameras, before she was taken into custodyand whisked away to the police station.
