ERODE: All the 450-and-odd students of the Seventh Day Adventist Matriculation School were moved out after it received a call that a bomb was placed there. Later it turned out to be a hoax. The school is situated on Sheik Dhawood Street at Pattakar Thottam, Erode. According to the police, the Principal of the school received a call on Tuesday at around 10 a.m. that a powerful bomb was placed in the school and would explode in a few minutes. The school authorities immediately shifted the students to a housing complex nearby and informed the Erode Police Control Room. A team of police personnel led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, N. Krishnamurthy, rushed to the spot. Police bomb disposal squad and the sniffer dog `Bobby' checked every nook and corner. Nothing was found. Parents rushed to the school in panic and took the children. Later a holiday was declared for the school. The police said that the school authorities should install Caller Identification facility on their telephone to thwart the attempts of mischief-mongers. Meanwhile, officials of the Education Department instructed all schools to install Caller ID facility.
