Minister back in office
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The high drama witnessed for the past three days over the resignation of M. Satyanarayana Rao from the Cabinet ended on a tame note with the Endowments Minister attending office in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters in his chambers, Mr. Satyanarayana Rao thanked the Chief Minister for giving him a clean chit and for defending the APCC president, K. Keshav Rao, and the previous Principal Secretary, Revenue, J. P. Murthy, during whose tenure the controversial sale of temple lands was effected.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Bureau carried out daylong raids on the residences of the former Endowments Commissioner, Venkateswarlu, the Joint Commissioner, Estates, Ramakrishna Kumar, and the Deputy Commissioner, Mohanachary, and claimed to have seized incriminating documents.
