PONDICHERRY: The Pattali Makkal Katchi Parliamentary Party leader, M. Ramadass, said here on Tuesday that the Standing Committee of the Union Home Ministry would camp in Pondicherry from June 16 to 18. Mr.Ramadass said that he along with V. Narayanasamy, MP, participated in the meeting of the committee held under the chairmanship of Sushma Swaraj a few days ago in New Delhi and it was decided that the Committee visit the Union Territories of Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Chandigarh during this years. As part of the itinerary of the committee the members of the panel would visit here and would hold discussions with Lt Governor, Chief Minister, Ministers, legislators and would also have an interaction with people. Mr.Ramadass said that the chairperson had conceded his plea that the Committee set apart a day to visit Karaikal as the region had been backward in several areas and a review of the potential available there for development could also be had by the committee. The agenda of the committee included enlisting the views of the people on disaster management issues.
