BANGALORE: "Sports and sportsmen are the best ambassadors of peace and tranquillity," said World billiards champion Pankaj Advani. The 19- year-old Banglorean, on the eve of his departure to Karachi to play the Indo-Pakistan Peace Cup snooker tournament at Karachi from June 9 to 11, expressed "happiness and hopes for a great outing." "Off the table we have wonderful rapport with each of the Pakistan players. And Saleh Mohammed is a gifted player," said Pankaj praising his Pakistani counterpart. Mohammed incidentally lost to Pankaj in the World IBSF snooker championship final. Pankaj sounded very optimistic of his chances. "I am playing quite well and Alok beat me convincingly (4-2) in the MCC tournament last week. That itself should give an indication of the strength of our team," said Pankaj. Alok Kumar, the national snooker champion, Devendra Joshi and Manan Chandra are the other members. Pakistan will be represented by Saleh Mohammed, Mohd. Yusuf, Naveen Perwani and Imran Shezad.
