MADURAI: The Madurai Regional Office of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has urged heads of all recognised schools to take quick action to help in the issue of free bus passes to students. In a statement, the Managing Director, K. Jeganathan, said the corporation had already sent the list of pass holders to all schools. The heads should mark the names of those who had failed and those who had left the school and send the statement back immediately. Based on the revised list of students, the corporation would send the free bus passes to the schools. The schools should submit fresh applications to get bus passes for newly admitted students at the respective branch offices. However, old students, who want to renew their passes, need not submit fresh applications. The passes should be distributed among students only after pasting their photographs. The signature of the head of institution and seal must be there in the passes. Schools wanting to apply for bus passes for the first time should approach the officials of the nearest branch office and apply with a copy of government recognition, the statement said.
