BANGALORE: Citizens led by organisations such as the Public Affairs Centre (PAC) on Tuesday staged a demonstration to protest the delay in the construction of the flyover at the junction of Indiranagar 100 Feet Road, Airport Road and Inner Ring Road. The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, reportedly assured them that the Bangalore Development Authority will be directed to take up work as soon the High Court decides on the litigation involving the previous contactor for the project, hopefully by next week. The protesters, wearing black armbands and scarves, stood on pavements holding black banners and placards. Besides, non-governmental organisation, residents' associations, and software professionals, cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, artist S.G. Vasudev and film stars, such as Ramesh Arvind and Vishnuvardhan, pledged their support.
