Man electrocuted

Thiruvananthapuram: A 37-year-old man, a carpenter, was electrocuted while working on an electric switchboard at a house in Peyad-Pallimukku on Tuesday. He was identified as Justin, a resident of Puliyarakonam. — Staff Reporter

Woman rescued

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sarojini Amma, 80, who fell into a well near Kariam temple was rescued by Kerala Fire and Rescue Services personnel on Tuesday evening. She was admitted to the Medical College Hospital. — Staff Reporter

DYFI demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has demanded that the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) abandon its reported move to appoint empanelled conductors to the Corporation allegedly under the excuse that the validity of the PSC rank list for conductors has expired. — Staff Reporter

Education awards

The district committee of the Sree Narayana Samskarika Samithi has decided to give awards to children of its members who have secured high marks in this year's SSLC, CBSE and ICSE examinations.

Awards will also be given to those who secured high marks in degree and post-graduate courses and in the entrance examinations to professional courses. Members should apply to the Samithi's district president before June 25. Further information can be had over telephone number 0471--2550997.
