JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government is gearing for the Amarnath Yatra which begins on June 21. This year, it was decided at a meeting between Governor S.K. Sinha and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that the yatra would be for two months. Divisional Commissioner B. R. Sharma stressed at the meeting that all requirements would be made well in time. Issues such as registration, constitution of yatra coordination cells at district and sub-divisional headquarters, traffic regulation on the national highway, identification of base camp, transportation of sadhus and payment of toll tax were discussed at the meeting. The yatra from the Pahalgam route will commence on July 6.
