NEW DELHI: Malaysia Airlines on Wednesday announced three additional direct flights on the Delhi-Kuala Lumpur sector from the coming winter schedule. With the new frequencies, the national carrier of Malaysia would operate daily flight on the Delhi-Kuala Lumpur sector from the present four weekly flights. Addressing a press conference here, Christopher Yek, the newly appointed Regional Manager of Malaysia Airlines for South Asia, said the airline would have three more calling stations in India Amritsar in October and Kochi and Trivandrum from early next year taking the total number of flights to 100 per week. Malaysia Airlines operates from seven key cities in India apart from Karachi in Pakistan, Male in Maldives and Colombo in Sri Lanka with the total flights from South Asia being close to 44 per week. The Indian operations contribute 64 per cent of the total passenger traffic and 68 per cent of the revenue from the South Asian region.
