Rupee shoots up

MUMBAI: The rupee maintained its rising trend against the dollar and shot up by five paise due to persistent trade and FII inflow on the back of falling dollar in the world market and closed higher at Rs. 43.49/50 a dollar on the interbank foreign exchange market. The Indian unit resumed better at 43.51/53 and zoomed to a high of 43.49, before closing at 43.49/50. The outlook for rupee would be better due to softening global oil prices and steady FII inflows into the equity markets, dealers said. — PTI
