THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fisheries Minister Dominic Presentation has said that the work on a fishing harbour at Koilandy, in Kozhikode district, would begin during the course of this year. At a press conference on Wednesday, he said the State Government had sought the Central Government's approval for constructing a fishing harbour each at Thalayi and Kasaragod. The work on the fishing harbours at Thangassery and Muthalappozhi, and the rehabilitation of the families displaced by the Vizhinjam harbour project too would be completed this year, he said. The Government also proposes to modernise the fishing harbour at Neendakara, Puthiyappa, Chombal and Mappila Bay. The second stage expansion of the fishing harbours at Beypore and Azhikkal too would be completed soon, he said.
