BANGALORE: Angry residents smashed the windscreens of three lorries used to transport garbage and set one of them on fire at Kacharakanahalli in the Kadugondanahalli Police Station limits on Wednesday. The residents of Kacharakanahalli were angry that garbage collected from Shivajinagar and other areas was being dumped near the Sri Rama Temple there. Though the residents had complained to the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) authorities about the problems they were facing because of the dumping of the garbage, the civic body had reportedly not taken any action. When the three lorries came there around 6 a.m. on Wednesday to dump garbage, irate residents smashed the windscreens of the vehicles and set one of them on fire.
