ERODE: The political parties were provided with Form 9 on Wednesday and Thursday, said the Collector, D. Karthikeyan, at Ganapathypalayam, on Thursday. Talking to mediapersons, the Collector said Form 9 was the abstract of Form 6, 7, 8 and 8A. He said as on May 30, the officials had received 1,27,915 applications from the public (1,15,687 Form 6 applications, 1,717 Form 7 applications, 1,873 Form 8 and 2,735 Form 8A applications). As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the extract of the Forms 6, 7, 8, 8A were included in the Form 9, distributed to the 12 recognised political parties in the district.
Bogus entry
He said the political parties would verify the names in the list and if they found any wrong entry or bogus entry in the Form 6 and other Forms, they would inform the Returning Officer of the constituency after June 20. Meanwhile, the Revenue officials would also verify the details.
Objections
He said the objections from the political parties would be recorded and investigated. If the objections were genuine, the officials would take action. He wanted the parties to verify the details carefully and submit them to the officials.
