KOCHI: The Yuvajanavedi has said that the debates whether the Dubai Internet City (DIC), which has proposed to take up the Smart City Project in Kochi, is owned by the Dubai Government or not, is irrelevant. The State leaders of Yuvajanavedi, P.J. Provinth and P.K. Priyesh Kumar, said here on Thursday that while the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, claimed that DIC was owned by the Dubai Government, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-(M) has said it was a private company. In the light of the activities of such multinational companies, the question whether they were owned by a Government or privately held was not at all relevant, they pointed out. They asked if there would be any change in the policy of the Coca-Cola company at Plachimada if the United States Government owned it.
