THRISSUR: A 65-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by a close relative at Koratty in the district on Thursday morning. The police gave the name of the victim as Thaliyan Veettil Pappachan. According to the police, Thomas, 45, who is a close relative of the deceased has confessed to having committed the murder. The police have arrested Thomas, who is the son of Pappachan's elder brother. The police said Thomas and his wife had picked up a quarrel and Pappachan who stayed next door had gone to Thomas' house to pacify the couple. Thomas was holding a knife in his hand and Pappachan was stabbed when he tried to prevent Thomas from advancing towards his wife with the knife. Pappachan was rushed to hospital but was declared dead after being admitted.
