VAT Ordinance promulgated

BANGALORE:
The Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, has promulgated the Karnataka Value Added Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2005, to bring in changes in the VAT Act. A press release has said the amendment relates to extension of the composition tax facility to sweetmeat stalls and ice-cream parlours, provision for payment of tax on medicines on MRP basis, etc.
