BHADRAVATI: "I contested alone and came out victorious. The intelligent voters are responsible for my victory," S. Bangarappa told presspersons here on Wednesday. He was felicitated by the president of the taluk unit of the Samajwadi Party, Kannappa. Mr. Bangarappa said that the Congress leaders had been camping in Shimoga to carry out propaganda against him, which turned against them. He also ruled out the possibility of joining hands with any other party. The Samajwadi Party will independently contest all the 224 seats in the next Assembly polls. To a question, Mr. Bangarappa said that he is not a saint to decline power, as one can serve the people only if one is in power. He later visited the government general hospital in Old Town.
