YSR's son mulling legal action against TDP

Special Correspondent

Peeved over his name being dragged into alleged temple land scam

HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's son, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, is contemplating a defamation case against the TDP leaders for dragging his name into the alleged temple land scam.

Dr. Reddy is said to have given the green signal for his legal battle on Thursday. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is understood to have convinced his father of the need to legally face the TDP campaign as his name was being used often by the TDP leaders in their political campaign.

The issue was discussed at an informal meeting of the Chief Minister with some of his senior Cabinet colleagues this morning. The Chief Minister too is said to have expressed anguish over the TDP campaign referring to the fresh controversy that has erupted over the sale of some Endowments lands in the State.

ACB inquiry on

The officials of the Chief Minister's Office point out that only 11 acres of land had been registered so far and not hundreds of acres as was being made out by the Opposition. There was no sale of lands till May 17 this year and what little was sold was also sought to be probed immediately. The officials say that the registration of these lands had come to a halt by May 30 and even those nominal registrations illegally done earlier had been cancelled. An ACB inquiry was also on.

In view of these facts, the Chief Minister had cleared the proposal of his son for initiating legal action against M.V. Mysoora Reddy, D. Sivarama Raju, K. Vijayarama Rao and S. Venugopala Chary for levelling charges against his son.
