HELPING HAND: The Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah, being helped by the police at the inauguration of a hospital in Adilabad.
ADILABAD: The Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah, was airlifted to Hyderabad on Thursday afternoon from Adilabad after he complained of uneasiness and extreme weakness. He was here to inaugurate a private eye hospital and attend an official programme at Pippalkuti village in Tamsi mandal. Mr. Rosaiah had complained of uneasiness and weakness since 8 a.m. when he arrived at the R&B guest house from Nizamabad to attend the scheduled programmes during the day. After inaugurating the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute-managed hospital he sat on the dais and soon complained of extreme weakness. As he wished to leave by car to Mancherial town (160 km from Adilabad) immediately to take a train for Hyderabad, the district Collector, R. Subba Rao, suggested airlifting him. He organised the helicopter after talking to the Principal Secretaries-- C.R. Biswal (GAD) and Jannat Hussain (CMO). The Finance Minister had a check-up by doctors at the R&B guest house. His blood pressure and ECG were normal. However, he was put on the saline drip as he still complained of weakness. The helicopter from Hyderabad arrived at 2.30 p.m. and after an interval of 45 minutes it left with Mr. Rosaiah for Hyderabad. The grandson of the Minister, Harsha, had flown down in the helicopter. The Adilabad Government Hospital Superintendent, Suresh Chandra, accompanied the Minister. It transpired that Mr. Rosaiah had no sleep the previous night at Nizamabad. He had also gone without dinner.
