MYSORE: Tension prevailed for some time near Devaraja Market here on Thursday when the police objected to a Kannada film crew unit shooting in public place "without permission and causing traffic congestion." As the crew was preparing to shoot a sequence for Sakha-Sakhi near the entrance to the market, the police stepped in and objected to the shooting. This resulted in an altercation and the director Dayal, the assistant directors Veeresh and Kothari, stunt master Rajashekar and a few others were taken into custody. However, they were released when the unit manager T.L.N. Shastry obtained permission from the Commissioner of Police, Praveen Sood. The crew, which was shooting under the banner of Rockline Productions, pointed out that it had obtained permission from the corporation officials. Traffic was affected for some time in the area.
Sentenced
A city court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his wife and child at Sattigundi in Heggade Devana Kote taluk four years ago. The court found Premkumar guilty of torturing his wife, Prema, and child, Harsha, before murdering them. The Heggade Devena Kote police had investigated the case.
Killed
A motorcyclist was killed when he rammed a lorry on the Mysore-Nanjangud Road in the city here on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Ravikumar of Banchanahalli. Ravikumar, who was seriously injured, died on the way to hospital. A case has been registered
