KANCHEEPURAM: Robbers entered a wholesale jewellery merchant's house in the busy Ennaikara Street here on Thursday and made off with three kg of gold jewellery and Rs. 2.50 lakh in cash after attacking his wife, Sumithradevi. According to police, the theft came to light when Mr. Dharmichand returned home at 2 p.m. As the main door was locked, he rang the calling bell but got no response. He entered the house to find his wife in the bathroom, tied to a chair and her mouth gagged with cloth.
