CHENNAI: With the TNPCEE scrapped, the scenario has changed for students in Tamil Nadu. The syllabus for Plus Two changed drastically. The improved, application-oriented syllabus now tests the fundamentals and conceptual understanding. Once the students prepare well to face the new syllabus, they can take up all-India examinations such as IIT-JEE, AIEEE and all-India pre-medical and pre-dental exams. CBSE students, however, feel they are at a disadvantage with respect to admissions to top-notch professional colleges in the State and so it is mandatory for them to compete in the all-India examinations, says Madhumani N., director, Aspire Learning Company, Chennai. Therefore, Aspire is conducting a Talent Search Test for students of Standards IX, X, XI and XII on June 19. Scholarships would be given to meritorious students to undergo training for the IIT Joint Entrance Examinations, AIEEE and the all-India pre-medical and pre-dental examination.
