Labour Federation opposes introduction of mini-buses

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Labour Progressive Federation has strongly condemned the State Government's move to introduce min-bus services in the Chennai metropolitan area.

Federation president C. Kuppusami said in a statement here on Thursday that the introduction of private mini-buses in Chennai suburbs would be like a death blow to metropolitan corporation buses.

He alleged that the Government's decision was meant to make transport corporations incur heavy losses ultimately leading to their closure.

To protest against the Government's decision, employees of the federation would organise a protest demonstration here on June23.
