Naxals blast phone exchange

KHAMMAM: A telephone exchange at Alubaka village was blasted by naxalites in the early hours of Friday.

According to reports, some 20 naxalites led by Sukhdev, secretary of the Wajeedu Local Guerrilla Squad (LGS), entered the exchange around 1 a.m. and asked the lineman, Ramulu, and others in the neighbourhood to leave the place. They then blasted the exchange using explosives. The loss was put at over Rs. 20 lakhs.
