Staff Reporter

Strengthening of party in Peddapalli Assembly segment urged

KARIMNAGAR: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Chairman and senior Congress leader, Gone Prakash Rao, has threatened to resign and join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) if the party fails to strengthen the Congress in Peddapalli Assembly segment.

Reacting to the former ZP Chairman, K. Sai Reddy's statement that the nominated posts were given to the Congress leaders of only Karimnagar and Ramagundam mandals which were represented by the Minister for Endowments, M. Satyanarayana Rao, and the Peddapalli MP,

G. Venkatswamy, the APSRTC chairman said that he was not happy with his post.

"I have not asked for any post and Mr. Venkatswamy had given him the post," he said.

Addressing a party workers meeting after participating in a function wherein the new DCC president, T. Santosh Kumar, assumed charge in Karimnagar town on Saturday, Mr. Prakash Rao said that he had once resigned from MLA's post after winning on the Sanjay Vichar Manch party ticket and he would not hesitate to resign from his present post and from the party as well.

Expressing concern over Congress losing hold in Peddapalli Assembly segment, he said that the party was not serious about the issue. He also said that he was not moving closely with the Peddapalli MP, G. Venkatswamy. "I don't know I would join even TRS also," he said. He called upon the party high command to revive the Congress in Peddapalli.

Earlier, Mr. Sai Reddy of Huzurabad region alleged that the leaders who had not participated in the poll campaign were securing top nominated posts. The Minister for Endowments, M. Satyanarayana Rao, the Government Whip, D. Sridhar, the local MLA, T. Jeevan Reddy, the DCC president, T. Santosh Kumar, and others were also present on the occasion.
