Naturopathy camp

NEW DELHI: Bapu Nature Care Hospital and Yogashram on Saturday started a 15-day camp on naturopathy, yoga and ayurveda at Mayur Vihar Phase-I.

Inaugurating the camp, the Director of Yogashram, R.M. Nair, said that with increased awareness about the benefits of naturopathy, yoga and ayurveda among people, the number of participants at the camp had increased manifold. To meet the growing global demand of an alternate system of treatment, a number of yoga and naturopathy based job-oriented educational courses, treatment and drug de-addiction centres have come up in the recent past, he added.

Need to donate

safe blood

NEW DELHI: To create awareness about the need to donate safe blood, the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immuno Haemotology (ISBTI) will organise voluntary blood donation camps, quiz contests and seminars across the Capital on Tuesday to mark World Blood Donors' Day.

ISBTI will also hold mass rallies and organise seminars and blood donation camps in Chandigarh, Jammu, Kota, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The Secretary-General of ISBTI, Makroo, said the voluntary national body has taken a pledge that nobody would die for want of safe blood in the country.

Bus for NDMC staff

NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson, Sindhushree Khullar, on Friday evening flagged off a bus from Palika Kendra to Rohini started exclusive for the civic body employees.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Khullar observed that NDMC had started the service as part of its welfare activities for its employees. The bus service will be provided to residents of NDMC Housing Complex at Rohini in two trips. The first strip will start from Rohini at 6-30 a.m. for the school staff, while the other bus for the employees will depart at 8-10 a.m. Similarly, two trips will take employees from Palika Kendra to Rohini at 2-15 p.m. and 5-40 p.m.

New appointment in IDP

NEW DELHI: The board of IDP Education Australia has appointed Anthony Pollock as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Education of overseas students is turning into a 6 billion dollar industry in Australia. IDP is the country's key international student recruitment body, operating offshore and onshore on behalf of its shareholders, Australia's universities. India sends between 12,000 to 14,000 students to Australia each year.

CRPF recruits

NEW DELHI: Seven hundred and sixty recruits of 158 Battalion on Saturday passed out at Gurgaon's CRPF Campus after 44 weeks of training.

Their training emphasised physical and mental robustness, unarmed combat, weapons use and fundamentals of rescue, relief, current affairs and human rights, a CRPF statement said here.
