Girl ends life `over exam results'

NEW DELHI: Apparently unhappy with her performance in the Class XII Board examinations, a girl allegedly hanged herself at her Lajpat Nagar residence in South Delhi on Saturday.

According to the police, at around 11-30 a.m. the girl, Jayanti, was found hanging from the window-grill of her room by her parents. She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Enquiries revealed that Jayanti was suffering from depression as she did not do as well as she had expected in her Board examinations and had secured 70 per cent marks.

Old man `kills' wife

A 70-year-old man allegedly killed his wife with a heavy object at his Malkaganj residence near Delhi University's North Campus on Saturday morning.

According to the police, Bhagwan used to have frequent fights with his 65-year-old wife, Shanti Devi. A fight broke out between the two on Saturday morning after Shanti Devi reportedly refused to serve him breakfast. Bhagwan allegedly hit her with a heavy object, resulting in her death.
