KANNUR: A.P. Abdullakutty, MP, has sought the State Government's intervention for expediting the proposed container depot project here. Mr. Abdullakutty, in a fax message to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Minister for Industries V.K. Ebrahim Kutty, said the Union Government had approved the project. The district would lose the project if the land required for setting it up was not made available within 60 days. The project was essential for the development of the district, he added. The MP said infrastructure for the project could be provided only if the Government took the initiative in this regard. The estimated investment needed for the project was Rs. 10 crores, he added.
