PONDICHERY: Local Administration Minister A. Elumalai has called upon the departments implementing rural welfare schemes to ensure that developmental works were implemented fast. Presiding over the first meeting of the State level Rural Development Monitoring committee here on Friday, the Minister said that the housing schemes should be executed on a simpler scale and the working of self-help groups should also be coordinated so that the benefits of these schemes would reach the poor without difficulty.
