HYDERABAD: The Ranga Reddy region of the State-owned Road Transport Corporation is gearing itself to augment its inter-city services to spare passengers of inconvenience following the decision to restrict movement of private buses in the city limits between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. The Government had recently issued orders restricting entry/exit/parking of private buses in city limits in the said timings. "If the Orders are implemented in letter and spirit we want to make sure passengers are not inconvenienced," S. Nagaraju, the Regional Manager, Ranga Reddy region told The Hindu . He said 30 buses were being kept ready for this purpose from Monday evening. Five buses each would be pressed into services on the Vijayawada and Kurnool sectors, 10 buses for destinations beyond Vijayawada, two on Khammam sector and four each on the Ongole/Nellore and Anantapur sectors. Further, to take care of the coordination and logistic aspects, eight officers from the region and 15 supervisors deputed from the RTC headquarters will be present at all important boarding points in and around the city. They will assess the situation and as and when required and ensure that extra buses are pressed into service, Mr. Nagaraju said.
