BANGALORE: A grand magic show by S.P. Nagendra Prasad marked the celebration of the World Environment Day by the Lalbagh Walkers' Association, here on Sunday. "The show is meant to invoke a sense of awareness among the youth to protect environment and save it for the future generation," said the magician.
Air purifiers
Recollecting the days when Bangalore was much greener, the magician said: "Plants and trees help purify the air that we breathe. "They are a necessary part of our lives and the Bangaloreans should realise this to make the city green again. "People can reduce pollution avoiding using plastics. Making use of the public transport system can bring down vehicular pollution. The traffic system needs to be regulated to combat frequent chaos," he said. Narendra Babu, a resident of Jayanagar and a regular walker at Lalbagh for seven years, said: "A good environment should be free of pollution." Environment is all about having adequate number of trees and plants. India should have "tree doctors" as in Germany to protect weak trees.
