Adalat postponed

KOCHIKOCHIKOCHINEDUMBASSERY: The Kanayannur taluk-level adalat slated to be held on Tuesday by the District Collector and the Police Commissioner has been postponed. The new date will be announced later, according to the District Collector. — Staff Reporter

Statue unveiled

KOCHIKOCHIKOCHINEDUMBASSERY: Swami Vivekananda was the first cultural ambassador that India sent abroad, Assembly Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan has said. He was speaking at the unveiling ceremony of a statue of Swami Vivekananda at Children's Park, near Ernakulam Boat Jetty, on Saturday. Unveiling the statue, Sri Ramakrishna Mission International president Swami Gahanananda said Swami Vivekananda's vision and principles had played a considerable role in formulating the tenets of modern world. — Staff Reporter

Walk-in interview

One killed in accident

KOCHIKOCHIKOCHINEDUMBASSERY: One person was killed and another sustained injuries when a Maruti Zen car went out of control and rammed into a wayside hotel at Athani, near Nedumbassery airport, on Sunday morning. The deceased, Abdul Rahiman, 20, resident of Thiruvillamala in Thrissur district, was an employee of the hotel. He died on the spot. — Staff Reporter
