NEW DELHI: Top seed Vivek Shokeen lost 6-7(10), 3-6 to the eventual champion, the third-seeded Jochen Schottler of Germany in the semifinals of the ITF Grade `I' junior tennis tournament in Offenbach, Germany.
The Asian junior champion, Sanam Singh, lost in the pre-quarterfinals 3-6, 4-6 to Luka Belic of Croatia. Sanam had beaten Andrei Plotniy of Russia 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and Marc Meigel of Germany 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 in the first two rounds in that order. There was not much luck for the top-seeded Indian pair in doubles, as Vivek and Sanam lost 3-6, 2-6 to Brydan Klein and Joel Lindner of Australia in the second round after a bye.
