CHENNAI: The Directorate of Government Examinations has stated that it was returning immediately the first attempt mark sheets of Standard XII students to the Chief Educational Officers, following the government's decision to discontinue the improvement examination scheme. A release from the Director, D. Jagannathan said the students could contact the Chief Educational Officers of the respective districts where they wrote the improvement examinations, and obtain their first attempt mark sheets after surrendering the improvement examination mark sheets. However, the students unwilling to surrender their improvement examination mark sheets immediately can request for a certified copy of their first attempt mark sheet, which could be used for applying for professional courses, he added.
