MADIKERI: : The Rotary's work in eradicating the dreaded polio disease is commendable and it will continue to render service to humanity, District Governor (3180) of Rotary, A.S.N. Hebbar, said here on Tuesday. He was inaugurating "Rotary Misty Hills," an extension of the Rotary Club here. Mr. Hebbar spoke on the achievements of the Rotary since its inception 100 years ago. The Rotary, which started with four persons, has now spread across 167 countries in the world with a membership of over 12 lakh people, he said. The newly elected president of the Rotary Misty Hills, B.G. Anantashayana, presided and spoke. President of the Rotary Club, Madikeri, Saravanan; secretary, C.M. Medappa; secretary of the Rotary Misty Hills, A. Gopalakrishna; Assistant Governor, Prithvi Madaiah, and special representative of the Rotary Governor, K.P. Vishwas were present.
