Rectified spirit seized

PONDICHERRY: About 30 containers having a total consignment of around 1050 litres of rectified spirit worth Rs 1.5 lakhs that were about to be smuggled out of Pondicherry clandestinely in a jeep were seized by the Excise department officials on Wednesday. The jeep was impounded. Two persons including a driver of the jeep who spotted at the godown were arrested, an official release said.
