PONDICHERRY: Congress legislator and former Minister, K. Lakshminarayanan today said that he would stage a road roko here on Thursday in support of his 14-point charter of demands and to draw the attention of the Government to the woes of people in Cassicadai Assembly constituency that he represents. It is a strange development in the history of Pondicherry that a ruling party member should stage an agitation to mark his protest against the Government`s `neglect' of his constituency. The list of demands of the member included need to develop the roads, distribution of house site pattas to the poor in Sinnayapuram, Vazhaikulam and Kurusukuppam falling with his constituency, jobs for the youth, availability of hygienically sound potable water to the residents. The agitation was also to criticise failure to repair the Mission street a round the clock busy thoroughfare and to press the implementation of welfare schemes for the fishermen and other sections of people.
