CUDDALORE: As part of the State-wide agitation, the leaders and cadres of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and its allies staged demonstration in front of the Collectorate here and at Villupuram on Wednesday. They urged the State Government to re-induct the road workers, and make available rice at Rs 2 a kg in the fair price shops. They raised slogans in support of their demands. The Cuddalore district secretary of the DMK, M.R.K.Panneerselvam, led the agitation, in which the MLAs, L.Pugazhendi, Durai.K.Saravanan, Velmurugan, Govindasamy and Vallalperuman, the Congress leader Nedunchezhian, the CPI (M) leader, S. Dhanasekaran, the CPI leader, Manivasagam, and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader, Padmanabhan, participated. At Villupuram, the DMK district secretary K.Ponmudi, led the agitation.
